ASHLAND, Ohio - The Lake Erie College softball team was defeated today (April 11th) by Ashland in the double header. With the losses the Storm is now 7-15 overall and 1-9 in the conference and with the wins Ashland is 25-5 overall and 10-4 in conference play.
The Storm was defeated in the first game as Ashland won the game 2-0 with a run in the third and fifth inning. Dawn Ondercin (Sheffield, Ohio / Brookside) pitched for the Storm in game one, and went the entire game. Ondercin allowed two runs, one of which was earned, on five hits. Ondercin struck out five batters, and had no walks in the game.
In game two, the Storm was defeated 9-0 as Ashland scored multiple runs in the first and fifth inning. Ashland won the game in five innings.
Lake Erie will be back in action when they travel to take on Malone on Wednesday (April 15th), with the first game of the double header starting at 3 P.M.
