Storm Travel to Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College softball team will be in action Thursday (May 3) when they travel to take on Cedarville in the first round of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament. 

Head Coach Rebecca Dyer said, "We are very excited that we have earned this opportunity to compete in the GMAC conference tournament. Our seniors have been working towards this goal for four years, and the whole team is ready for it. We are very anxious to get to Xenia and compete!"

Storm Report:  The Storm is 16-20 overall and 10-12 in Great Midwest action.  The Storm are peaking at the right time as they won six of their final seven games to make their first postseason appearance since joining Division-II. 

Opposition Position:  The Yellow Jackets are 30-16 overall and 19-5 in the conference and earned the top seed in the conference tournament.  The Yellow Jackets defeated the Storm twice this season.    

The Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament will be hosted by Athletes in Action in Xenia, Ohio.  Tickets will be $10 for adults and $5 for students per day and an All-Tournament pass is $20 for adults, and $10 for students.   

Forecast:  The Storm will play their second game of the tournament on Thursday (May 3) as the tournament is a double elimination format.
