INDIANAPOLIS- The Lake Erie College Storm softball team dropped their doubleheader this evening against the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds (24-8, 5-3). With the losses, Storm softball falls to 6-12 overall, with their 2-4 conference record remaining unchanged.
The first game was a 10-2 loss in five innings of play, in which senior Allyson Deemer earned the loss in her three innings of work.
Offensively, the Peacock twins carried the Storm. Kaitlin Peacock hit an RBI double. Kristin Peacock hit a sacrifice fly to score the other run produced in the game.
In the second game, Lake Erie lost 8-0 in six innings of play. Hayley Dix earned her second loss of the season (1-2), giving up five runs on four hits and two walks. Parker Viele earned three strikeouts against the Greyhounds pitching in relief.
The Storm returns to G-MAC play this Friday, March 29 for a road matchup against conference foe Ursuline College. First pitches are scheduled for 3 pm and 5 pm respectively.
