PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- Sophomore Ethan Snyder (Salesville, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) set a school record in the 400-meter dash and twin brother Isaac is on his way to one in the heptathlon following the invitational portion of the Grand Valley State University Big Meet in Allendale, Mich. on Friday night (Feb. 11). Classmate Chris Burrows (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood Madison) also continued his fine winter with a strong race in the men's 200-meter dash.
Ethan Snyder finished 16th overall in the field of 39 runners with a time of 49.06, a full .12 ahead of his previous best time (and school record). Issac is currently at 2,667 points through four events and is on pace to pass his previous record of 4,774 points set when he qualified provisionally for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships back in December at Kent State University.
Burrows finished second in the 200-meters with a time of 21.84 seconds and was the top D-II sprinter in the field of 33.
In addition, freshman Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) placed fourth in the high jump, clearing 6' 10 1/4".
The entire Storm squad is set to compete Saturday, Feb. 12, for Day Two of the Big Meet.
