Burrows Sets 60-Meter Mark in Final Tune-Up Before Nationals

PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- In his final tune-up for next week's national championship meet, sophomore Chris Burrows (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood Madison) broke his own school record in the 60-meter dash and finished second in the 400-meters at the Virginia Tech Qualifier in Blacksburg, Va. Saturday (March 5).

Burrows was the only member of the Storm to compete in the event.  He covered the 60-meters in 6.91 seconds, beating his previous mark of 6.92.  His time in the 400 of 48.66 seconds was bettered only by defending 400 national champion Leford Green of Johnson C. Smith University.

One of four Storm individuals set to compete at the 2011 NCAA Division II Indoor National Track & Field Championships March 11-12 in Albuquerque, N.M., Burrows will run in the 200- and 400-meter dashes.
