MANKATO, MINN. – Sophomore Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) earned his third career All-American honor with a fifth-place finish in the high jump Friday (arch 9) at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships at Minnesota State University-Mankato.
Junior All-American Ethan Snyder (Salesville, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) is currently 12th through the first four events of the men's heptathlon.
Dudley easily cleared his first two attempts and then went over the bar at 7' ½" (2.15 meters). He had a couple of looks at clearing 2.21 meters but unfortunately hit the standard on his first attempt and wasn't up to full speed on his final two attempts.
Snyder meanwhile, got off to a strong start with a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter dash (7.31 seconds). He placed ninth in the high jump (6' 2"), 10th in the long jump (20' 6 ¼") and 11th in the shot put (34' 9").
The 2011 All-American will finish the multi-event competition on Saturday, March 10, with three events including two of his better races, the 60-meter hurdles and 1,000-meter run.
