MANKATO, MINN. – Junior Isaac Snyder (Salesville, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) just missed out on earning All-American honors for the second straight season, finishing in 11th place of the men's heptathlon Saturday (March 10) at Minnesota State University at Mankato.
Snyder, who placed eighth a year ago in the event, finished with 4992 points overall. The very tightly contested event had him just 21 points from earning All-American honors and less than 100 points out of a top-three finish.
On Saturday, Snyder finished third in the 1,000-meter run in 2:47.11, fifth in the pole vault with a personal best mark of 14' 5 ¼" and eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.62 seconds) to record 2,359 points on day two nearly doubling his point total from the first four events.
The Lake Erie College Track and Field teams open the outdoor portion of their schedule next weekend, March 16-17, at the Wake Forest University Open.
