PAINESVILLE, OHIO – Lake Erie College placed a total of 13 student-athletes on the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Indoor Track and Field All-Academic and Academic Excellence Teams which were recently released by the league office.
The Storm had six men and seven women earn distinction for their performance in the classroom. All-Academic Teams are comprised of those student-athletes that are an active member on the roster at the end of the season, not a freshman or a first year transfer student and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.0-3.49. Academic Excellence Teams are comprised of student athletes that have a cumulative g.p.a. of 3.50-4.0.
For the Lake Erie men, junior Nathan Fox (Groveport, Ohio/Bishop Harley) and sophomores Nick Green (Wapakoneta, Ohio/Wapakoneta), Skyler Nick (Wavconda, Ill./Wavconda) and Spencer Nick (Wavconda, Ill./Wavconda) were named to the All-Academic Team while juniors Devin O'Neill (Concord, Ohio/Mentor) and Garrett Ondrus (Oregon, Ohio/Clay) received Academic Excellence.
On the women's side, seniors Alex Ardo (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) and Kaitlyne Perrill (Ashville, Ohio/Teays Valley) and junior Ember Ryan (Mechanicsburg, Ohio/Fairbanks) made the All-Academic Team. Juniors Colleen Bednar (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick), Kaitlyn Holland (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) and Sammie Smith (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick) all made the Academic Excellence Team along with senior Jeanne Lee (Hudson, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy/Robert Morris).
