WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Lake Erie College wrapped up the weather-shortened Wake Forest Open on Saturday (March 17) to conclude Spring Break week.

Freshman Joe Postwaite (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili) continued his strong weekend with a school-record performance in the long jump.  His leap of 22' 3 2/4" was seven inches better than the previous mark and placed him eighth overall in the event.

On the women's side, freshman Destiny Prusky (Newton Falls, Ohio/Newton Falls) won the B flight of the high jump, clearing the bar at 5' 3 ¼" inches. Classmate Ariana Jorgensen (Etobicoke, Ontario/Father Henry Carr Secondary)  finished 12th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.07 seconds.  She had qualified 13th in Friday's preliminaries.

Junior Sammie Smith (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick) just missed a school record in the 1,500-meters, clocking in at 5:09.99, which was less than a second off the LEC mark of 5:09.05.

Next weekend, the Storm is at High Point University for the annual Verklasse Meet on Saturday, March 24.
