Storm Shines at Baldwin Wallace

BEARA, Ohio—Members of the Lake Erie College track and field team competed at the Baldwin Wallace Mid-Febraury Meet held Friday (Feb. 14) in Berea, Ohio.

Kaitlyn Menges (New Philadelphia, Ohio/New Philadelphia) had one of the top finishes for Storm, placing third in the women's weight throw with a heave of 15.45 meters.  Keeley Ralyea also a had an eighth-place finish in the event with a toss of 13.23 meters and Kady Held (Massillon, Ohio/Tuslaw) placed 11th with a toss of 12.84 meters.  Sean Stone (Newton Falls, Ohio/Southeast) finished sixth in the men's portion at 16.39 meters.  Jimmy Ritt (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) and Douglas Moorer (Copley, Ohio/Copley) finished ninth and tenth respectively.  Menges also seventh in the shot put with a toss of 12.46 meters.

Emily O'Bryan-Murino (Willoughby, Ohio/Willoughby South) took third in the long jump with a leap of 4.82 meters. In the men's section, Christopher Vogel (Kirchberg, Germany/Sportsgymnasium Chemnitz) placed sixth with a jump of 6.14 meters.  Vogel also finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 13.65 meters.  Matthew Mrosko (Wickliffe, Ohio/Wickliffe) placed ninth in the high jump at a height of 1.83 meters.

Nikki Mosby (Coram, N.Y./Longwood) took third in the 55 meter hurdles at a time of 8.86 seconds.  O'Bryan-Murino placed seventh in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.72 seconds.  In the men's 55 meter dash, Andrew Kemer (Medina, Ohio/Medina) took second with a time of 52.28 seconds. Shavon Thompson (St. Andrew, Jamaica/Adrenne) took sixth with a time of 6.66 seconds.  Thompson also placed sixth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 53.64 seconds and ninth in the 200 meter dash at 23.16 seconds. Brian Havrilla (Willowick, Ohio/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) took 14th in the 200 dash at 23.74 seconds.
