GENEVA, Ohio – Lake Erie's men's and women's squads got on the scoreboard in Thursday's action at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships.
The LEC men tallied 21 points on Thursday; the Storm women scored eight. Lake Erie's second day was highlighted by Jamil Dudley winning a GLIAC title in the men's high jump.
In both the men's and women's divisions, 8-of-21 events are in the books. At that mark the Storm men are in seventh place; the women are in 11th.
Dudley posted a 2.20-meter (7-02.50) leap to win the title and earn 10 points for the Green & White. The indoor national champion in the high jump sweeps the GLIAC indoor and outdoor titles with his Thursday victory.
Teammate Joe Postwaite added to Lake Erie's total with a second-place finish (7.21 meters, 23-08) in the triple jump. Zack Soyring rounded out the scoring for the Storm men with a sixth-place finish in the javelin. Soyring's top throw was a 50.16-meter (164-07) effort.
The LEC also jumped their way to garnering points on Thursday. The team's eight points were earned in the long jump, with Nadia Lee placing third and Danielle Corbin placing seventh. Lee logged a 5.54-meter (18-02.25) in claiming third place.
