Five alive: Lake Erie sends quintet to nationals

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – Senior Jamil Dudley will be looking to claim a third national title, and he will be joined by four other Lake Erie athletes, as the Storm men's and women's squads are sending a quintet to the 2014 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

[Meet schedule, entries]

Dudley, Joe Postwaite (high jump, triple jump) and Ethan Snyder (400 hurdles) have qualified for the May 22-24 event on the men's side. Nadia Lee (triple jump) and Destiny Prusky (high jump) have qualified on the women's side.

"We've had a solid spring," said Head Coach Ryan Rademacher. "and it's great to send five to the national meet. These student-athletes have worked hard to post their qualifying results, and I am looking forward to see if they can raise their effort even more heading into next week."

This year's Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held at the Grand Valley Track and Field Stadium in Allendale, Mich. Jamil Dudley enters this year's Outdoor Championship meet looking for his third national title in the men's high jump. He is an automatic qualifier for the high jump, having logged a 2.26-meter (7-05) leap on May 9. That mark places Dudley fourth across all collegiate divisions and second in DII. The senior from Massillon, Ohio, won the high jump in both the 2012 outdoor nationals and the 2014 indoor nationals.

Postwaite will compete in two events. On the 2014 NCAA-II outdoor performance lists, the junior ranks fifth in the high jump and eighth in the triple jump.

Snyder heads to Michigan owning the nation's No. 10 mark in the 400-meter hurdles.

Prusky (16th in the high jump) and Lee (20th in the triple jump) will represent the LEC women.

The 2014 championship will award NCAA Division II national champions in 42 events and include team champions for both the men's and women's side. The Lake Erie men earned Lake Erie's all-time best finish in a national championship when they placed ninth at this year's indoor nationals in March.
