Storm Men Take Eighth, Women Take Ninth at GLIACs

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich.—The Lake Erie College track and field teams completed competition at the 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships Sunday (March 1).

The Storm men earned 22 points to finish in eighth while the Storm women earned 21 points to finish in ninth overall.

Joe Postwaite (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili) had the top finishes for the Storm men.  He earned silver in both the high jump and the triple.  In the high jump, Postwaite cleared 2.03 meters (6'8") for his top finish in the event at GLIACs.  In the triple jump, Postwaite leaped 15.11 meters (49'7").

Matthew Mrosko (Wickliffe, Ohio/Wickliffe) took seventh in the high jump, clearing 1.94 meters (6:4.25").

Vincent Horning (Stow, Ohio/Stow) set a Lake Erie mark in the one mile run with a time of 4:13.61, finishing in fourth.  The time was five seconds better than his previous best.  Horning also took 16th in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:54.75.

Ariana Jorgensen (Kleinburg, Ont./Emily Carr Secondary) ran a personal and school best time of 8.73 seconds to finish in second- the highest finish for her at GLIACs.  The time is a NCAA provisional mark.

Danielle Corbin (Atlanta, Ga.) took eighth place in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.79 seconds.

Nadia Lee (Tucker, Ga./Tucker) also had a silver finish for the Storm, taking second in the triple jump with a distance of 11.79 meters (38'8.25").

Destiny Prusky (Newton Falls, Ohio/Newton Falls) finished seventh in the high jump, clearing 1.61 meters (5:3.25").

Kaitlyn Menges (New Philadelphia, Ohio/New Philadelphia) took 10th in the shot put with a toss of 13.06 meters.
