Postwaite, Prusky, Moorer Qualify for 2015 Outdoor Championships


PAINESVILLE, Ohio-- Three members of the Lake Erie College Track and Field team will be competing at the 2015 NCAA Division-II Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 21-23 hosted by Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan.

Seniors Joe Postwaite and Destiny Prusky make their third trip to the National Championships while sophomore Douglas Moorer will make his debut at the national level.

Postwaite (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) makes his third appearance at the Outdoor Championships after winning the triple jump title at this year's Indoor Championships.  This year, Postwaite will compete in the triple and high jump.  At the Akron Campbell-Wright Invitational, Postwaite jumped 50'10.25" in the triple, the second best mark in Division-II during the season. At the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships, he cleared a season-best 7'0.25" in the high jump, the sixth best height in Division-II this season.

Moorer (Copley, Ohio/Copley) qualifies for his first Outdoor Championships after an impressive season in the discus.  Moorer enters the Outdoor Championships ranked fifth in Division-II after a season-best throw of 179'11" at the GLIAC Championships.  He is the first thrower in Storm history to qualify for the Championships.

Prusky (Newton Falls, Ohio/Newton Falls) qualifies for her third straight Outdoor Championships in the high jump.  She will enter the event ranked sixth in the country after clearing a season=best height of 5'8" at the GLIAC Championships.  At this year's Indoor Championships, Pursky earned Second-Team All-American honors in the high jump.
