TIFFIN, Ohio – The Lake Erie men's and women's track and field teams opened their indoor season as they competed at the Tiffin Alumni Open.

"We had a very solid day as a whole, and I'm pleased with the efforts. Every event group did some nice things, but I think the biggest positive were our sprinters," said head coach Grant Lofdahl.

The Storm men sprinters were led by Andre Husain Jr. (Cleveland Heights, Ohio / Holy Name) who won the 60 meter dash in a time of 6.98 seconds.  Husain placed second in the 200 meter dash, finishing with a time of 22.88 seconds.  In addition to Husain, Andrew Kemer (Medina, Ohio / Medina) placed fourth in the 60 meter dash finishing with a time of 7.11 seconds.  Jordan Sensabaugh (Akron, Ohio / St. Vincent-St. Mary) placed third in the 200 meter dash for the Storm with a time of 23.11 seconds.

Jordan Pritchard (Painesville, Ohio / Lake Catholic) led the way for the Storm distance runners as he was victorious in his first colligate race, the 1000 meter, in a time of 2:38.55 minutes.  In addition to Pritchard, Jake Graham (Gomer, Ohio / Columbus Grove) and Vincent Horning (Stow, Ohio / Stow) placed second and third in the 3000 meter race with times of 9:01.42 and 9:05.29 minutes respectively.

The Storm women were led by Nadia Lee (Tucker, Ga. / Tucker) as she won the triple jump, jumping a distance of 10.88 meters (35 ft. 8.5 inches).   Danielle Corbin (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Walnut Grove (Ga.) placed second in the long jump with a distance of 5.46 meters (17 ft. 11 inches).  Corbin also placed fourth for the Storm in 60 meter dash in a time of 7.92 seconds.  Aleea Volkman (Wauseon, Ohio / Wauseon) took second in the 1 mile race with a time of 6:01.46 minutes.  Simone Green (Akron, Ohio / Buchtel) finished the 200 meter dash in a time of 26.08 seconds, which earned her a third place finish.

Lake Erie has a long break before they resume competition Saturday, January 16th, when they travel to compete in the Edinboro Al Hall Invite.
