Storm Wraps up Day 1 at GLIAC Championships

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Lake Erie College track and field team was in action today as they competed in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC) Championships.  After the first day of competition the men are in eighth place with six points and the women are in ninth with six points.

The women were led by Danielle Corbin (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Walnut Grove (Ga.) as she placed third in the long jump, as she cleared a distance of 5.74 meters or 18 feet 10 inches.  Corbin's jump was a D-II provisional mark and also broke a school record. 

The men's distance medley relay team of DJ Graham (Gomer, Ohio / Columbus Grove), Andrew Kemer (Medina, Ohio / Medina), Jordan Prichard (Painesville, Ohio / Lake Catholic), and Vincent Horning (Stow, Ohio / Stow) crossed the line in a time of 10:17.17 minutes, to earn third place honors. 

Keith Hemphill (Warrensville Heights, Ohio / Cleveland Central Catholic) won his heat in the men's 400 meter dash as he crossed the finish line in a time of 50.79 seconds. 

Lake Erie will be back in action as they finish up the competition at the GLIAC Championship meet.
