TIFFIN, Ohio – The Lake Erie College track and field team wrapped up the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships today.
Head Coach Grant Lofdahl said " the women really stepped up this weekend, setting three school records".
For the Storm women Nadia Lee (Tucker, Ga. / Tucker) took second place in the triple jump with a jump of 11.9 meters or 39 feet, which is a top 20 distance in Division-II.
Aneesa Volkman (Wauseon, Ohio / Wauseon) broke a school record in the mile as she crossed the line in a time of 5:32.92 minutes.
Gina Henley (Akron, Ohio / Akron HS) crossed the finish line in a time of 11:12.72 minutes, which broke a school record.
For the Storm men Christopher Vogel (Kirchberg, Germany / Sportgymnasium Chemnitz) placed seventh in the long jump as he cleared a distance of 14.29 meters or 46 feet 10.75 inches. Vogel's jump was good enough to hit the D-II provisional mark.
