Storm Opens Outdoor Season at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C.--  The Lake Erie College track and field team opened their 2016 outdoor season at the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State University.

Danielle Corbin (Brooklyn, N.Y./Walnut Grove) had the top finish for the Storm on the day, placing sixth in the long jump with a leap of 5.66 meters.  The distance set a new Storm record in outdoor competition. 

Simone Green (Akron, Ohio/Buchtel) just missed on breaking a Storm outdoor record in the 400 meter dash, finishing with a time of 59.30.

Kaitlyn Menges (New Philadelphia, Ohio/New Philadelphia) finished 21st in the shot put with a toss of 12.99 meters.

Andre Husain Jr. (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Holy Name) ran the 100 meter dash in 10.83 seconds for a solid finish.

The Storm is back in action Saturday (March 26) at the Raleigh Relays as well as the Cedarville Yellowjacket Invitational.
