PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College track and field team will be in action this weekend as they compete in the Bison Classic Friday (April 14) and the Walsh Invitational Saturday (April 15). Head Coach Grant Lofdahl said "We're splitting the squad again this week, looking to run some fast distance times at Bucknell on Friday and sending the full squad to Walsh on Saturday".
Storm Report: The Storm competed last weekend at the John Homon Invite. Danielle Corbin (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Walnut Grove (Ga.)) and Nadia Lee (Tucker, Ga. / Tucker) each won in the long jump and triple jump respectively. Brenda Johnson (Bellefontaine, Ohio / Bellefontaine) set a school record in the Javelin last weekend. The Storm men took three of the four top spots in the 5000 meter, with DJ Graham (Gomer, Ohio / Columbus Grove) winning and setting a school record.
Coach Lofdahl added "We really getting into the heart of outdoor season now, with three weeks left until the GLIAC meet, and we want to start putting up some big marks. Our sprint group had a breakout meet at Mount Union last week, and now we hope for the field and distance groups to get rolling".
Forecast: Lake Erie will return to the track Saturday (April 22) when they travel to compete in the Sparky Adams Invitational.
