Storm Ready to Run at Collegiate Challenge (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College track and field team will be in action Saturday (Jan. 20) when they travel to compete in the Collegiate Challenge at the University of Indianapolis.

Head Coach Giles Davis said, "After two weeks of solid training, the meet this weekend will provide a great opportunity to evaluate our progress as a team.  The athletes traveling have the chance to compete against the top programs in the GLVC and GLIAC and improve upon their rankings in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. "  

Storm Report:  The Storm has not competed in over a month, and are excited to hit the track running.  The Storm has a strong showing at the Tiffin Alumni Open, as they had three event winners.  Hailey Vanhoy (Geneva, Ohio / Geneva) took first in the women's mile, Joseph Elson (Mount Gilead, Ohio / Mount Gilead) took first in the men's 400 and Xavier Kibet (Nakuru, Kenya / Baringo) won the men's 3000 meters. 

Forecast: Lake Erie will return to the track Friday (Jan. 26) when they compete at the Midwest Classic at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
