Storm Set to Compete at Midwest Open (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College track and field team will be in action Friday (Jan. 26) and Saturday (Jan 27) when compete in the Midwest Open at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio. 

Storm Report:  The Storm is coming off a strong showing at the Collegiate Challenge at the University of Indianapolis.  The Storm women were led by Hailey Nielsen (Jonesville, Mich. / Jonesville) who took fourth in the high jump, and the men were led by Joseph Elson (Mount Gilead, Ohio / Mount Gilead) as he took second in the 400 meters. 

Head Coach Giles Davis said, "This weekend provides the members of men and women's track and field an opportunity to compete against great talent at one of the best indoor venues in the country, SPIRE Institute.  The coaching staff and athletes competing are looking for improvement in preparation for the forthcoming G-MAC Championships." 

Forecast:  Lake Erie will return to the track Friday (Feb. 2) when they travel to compete in the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic.
