Storm Ready to Run at Youngstown State (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College track and field team will be in action Friday (Feb. 2) and Saturday (Feb. 3) when they travel to compete in the Youngstown State Mid-Major Invitational.

Storm Report:  The Storm is coming off a strong showing at the Midwest Open.  The Storm women were led by Gina Henley (Akron, New York / Akron HS) as she broke the school record in the 5,000 meters in a time of 19:42.15 minutes. The men were led by Joseph Elson (Mount Gilead, Ohio / Mount Gilead) as he earned a second place finish in the 600 meters with a time of 1:22.23 minutes. 

Head Coach Giles Davis said, "This National Invitational scheduled for February 2-3, 2018 at Youngstown State University provides an opportunity for the men's and women's track team to compete against strong competition from Division I, Division II and Division III programs from the Midwest.  The objective is to continue to improve upon technique and racing strategies while competing with purpose and passion." 

Forecast:  Lake Erie will return to the track Saturday (Feb. 10) when they travel to compete in the Tiffin Dragon Invitational.
