ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College track and field team was in action today as they competed in the John Homon Invite, at Mount Union University.
Head Coach Giles Davis said, "There were a few bright spots today, overall the team is making progress in preparation for the G-MAC championships. Without question we are looking forward to better conditions and competition in the next few weeks."
The Storm women were led by Madyson Plante (Marlborough, Mass. / Marlborough) as she placed third in the women's high jump, as she cleared a height of 1.61 meters or five feet, 3.25 inches. Hailey Nielsen (Jonesville, Mich. / Jonesville) added a sixth place finish in the high jump as she cleared a height of 1.52 meters or four feet 11.75 inches. Luca Hartman (Bonnievale, South Africa / Hcei Meisieskod Bloemhof) added a seventh place finish in the 200 meter dash as she crossed the line in a time of 27.02 seconds.
The Storm men were led by Montrell Devaughn (Canton, Ohio / Canton McKinely) as he placed second in the 200 meter dash, as he broke the tape in a time of 22.64 seconds.
Lake Erie will return to the track Friday (April 13) when they travel to compete in the Walsh Invitational.
