(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced its all-conference team Thursday and a pair of Lake Erie Storm thin clads have earned the postseason honors. Johanna Moeller was named a Second Team selection while Madyson Plante was place on the Third Team.
The junior Moeller was the top placer for the Green and White in last month's G-MAC Indoor Championships with a second place finish in the long jump. Her best mark was 5.60 meters, or 18 feet 4.5 inches. She was edged by just .01 meters, or half of an inch, from a conference crown which went to Tiffin's Shalbe Evans.
Fellow junior Plante was the Storm's lone national qualifier this year and did so in the high jump. While she didn't place at nationals, she still took third place in the pentathlon with an overall score of 3,247. Her best event was the high jump in which she qualified for nationals. Her best mark in that event this season was 1.72 meters, or 5 feet 7 ¾ inches.
The Storm will start the outdoor season this weekend with the team traveling south to Muskingum for the Amy Adams Invitational.
