(BEREA, Ohio) - Poor weather altered the plans of Lake Erie Track & Field, but the Storm were able to compete at the 50th Annual Sparky Adams Invitational hosted by Baldwin Wallace on Saturday afternoon. The Storm did well as the majority of those competing were able to place.
Josie Chaddock won the high jump with a height of 1.65 meters. Lillian Putney added another 10 points for the Storm with a win in the pole vault. Her best mark there was 3.2 meters. Natalie Urban was fifth in the same event with a height of 2.35 meters.
In the 100 meter dash, Luca Hartman and Imane Snyder went 1-2 in the event. Hartman clocked in at 12.90 while Snyder was just .07 off her pace.
Hailey Nielsen was second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.63 finishing second only to an unattached runner. Nyla Fuqua was sixth with a time of 18.52. Ashley West took silver in the 200 with a time of 26.61. Snyder followed in fifth with a time of 27.2 and Nielsen seventh at 27.9.
Lauren Pagan placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 36.07 meters. She also finished eighth in the hammer throw with a distance of 35.64 meters.
Montrell DeVaughn was second in the 200 with a time of 22.68. Joseph Elson Jr. was fourth with a time of 22.94.
Dominic DeFranco placed sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 42.21 meters. Dylan Conant was eighth in the same event with a throw of 37.70 meters. DiFranco also placed sixth in the discus with a throw of 35.62 meters. Conant once again was right behind him, but this time placed seventh with a mark of 32.49 meters.
Conant's day wasn't done as he hit the trifecta with a seventh place finish in the shot. His best throw came at 11.88 meters to earn another two points. Brandon Bryan won the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:20.58.
