LEC RETURNS HOME TO HOST LAKERS: The Lake Erie College women's basketball team looks to rebound from its first loss since Dec. 1 as it returns home to host regional rival Mercyhurst College on Thursday, Dec. 14, at 5:30 p.m. at the Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic & Wellness Center  The Storm (7-5) which is playing its first home game in two weeks, had its four-game winning streak snapped Monday night at Division I Akron, 76-51.  The Lakers (3-3), meanwhile, have won two straight, including a 70-66 home win over Wheeling Jesuit in their last game on Dec. 9.

BEST START IN SCHOOL HISTORY: With seven wins in the first 11 games, Lake Erie posted its best start in the program's history.  Prior to this, the earliest a Storm team reached seven wins was 14 games during the 1982-83, 1991-92 and 2007-08 seasons.
This is the 30th season in Lake Erie women's basketball history dating back to the 1978-79 season.  To date, the Storm has posted an overall record of 159-495 (.243).  However, 29 percent of the program's all-time wins have come in the last five seasons under head coach Bob Booher.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE STORM: After taking care of the basketball and shooting it well during a four-game winning streak, the Storm committed a season-high 28 turnovers and shot just 27 percent in a 76-51 loss at Akron Monday night.  It was the Storm's first regular-season game against a Division I opponent.  Despite the loss, junior Alyssa Wagers (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) recorded her second straight double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.  Junior Brittany Zele (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) led the Storm with 13 points while freshman guard Sarah Wojciechowski (Randolph, Ohio/Waterloo) added 10 off the bench.  Zele and Wagers combined to go 10-of-17 from the floor while the rest of the team was just 7-of-46.

ROGERS NAMED ECAC POTW: Sophomore post Stephanie Rogers (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) was named the ECAC Division II women's basketball co-player of the week on Dec. 15 after her weekend that she was named M.V.P. of the Mansfield University Comfort Inn Classic after totaling 26 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks in wins over Mansfield and Slippery Rock

UP NEXT: Lake Erie hosts Notre Dame College on Monday, Dec. 21, at 5 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the men's team.  The Storm men will host California University (Pa.) in the second game.
