PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College women's basketball team will open the 2016-17 GLIAC conference schedule with a trip to Michigan for games with Wayne State on Thursday (Dec. 1) and Saginaw Valley State on Saturday (Dec. 3).
Storm Report: Lake Erie is 2-3 after an 89-71 loss to Ursuline College on Nov. 22. Kayla Gabor (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) tied a career-high with 27 points while Christine Dawson (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) added a career-high 23. Lake Erie played Cleveland State in an exhibition on Sunday (Nov. 27) and fell 65-42. Gabor led the team with 19 points scored. For the season, Gabor is averaging 20.6 points per game.
Series History: Lake Erie has faced Wayne State ten times in the series. The Storm have won three of ten, including the last meeting last year. Gabor led the Storm with 20 points in a 58-40 win. Saginaw Valley has won four of six against the Storm. The Cardinals defeated the Storm 84-54 in last season's meeting.
Opposition Position: Wayne State is 2-3 this season after a 67-43 win over Michigan-Dearborn over the weekend. Saginaw Valley State is 4-1 after a 80-49 win over Cal St. San Marcos on Sunday.
Storm Forecast: The Storm will play the only two home games in December as they host Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan on Dec. 8 and 10th, respectively.
