BAY CITY, Mich. – Lake Erie College women's basketball player Kayla Gabor (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athlete Conference (GLIAC) player of the week for the South division.
"Kayla works hard at her offensive game and the numbers paid off this week for her and the team," said Storm head coach Bob Booher about Kayla's POW honor.
Gabor was named player of the week for week six of the women's basketball season. Gabor helped to lead the Storm to a pair of road wins, one over Lake Superior State, and an overtime win over Northwood. Gabor was a vital part of the team's success in each game.
Against the Lakers, Gabor scored a career high 30 points, as she shot over 58 percent from the field in the game. Gabor also tallied a team high eight assists, as well as creating four steals on the defensive end of the floor. In the overtime win against the Timberwolves, Gabor had a double-double as she poured in 20 points, and grabbed 10 rebounds. Gabor also led the way with six assists in the game for the Storm.
