Storm Returns Home for Battlers and Big Blues (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's basketball team returns home to the Osborne Center for a seven game homestand that will begin with matchups against Alderson Broaddus and Bluefield State this week. The Storm will host the Battlers on Monday (Jan. 15) at 7:30 PM and will face the Big Blues on Wednesday (Jan. 17) at 5:00 PM.

Storm Report: Lake Erie is 7-8 overall and 4-6 in the G-MAC after the Storm dropped G-MAC contests at Malone and Walsh last week. Farrah Benner (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick) led the Storm with 21 points against Malone and Christine Dawson (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) had 12 rebounds against the Pioneers. Kayla Gabor (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) leads the G-MAC with 20.3 points per game.

Opposition Position: Alderson Broaddus is 4-9 overall and 2-8 within the conference this season. The Battlers fell 79-74 to Ohio Dominican in their last contest on Saturday. The leading scorer for the Battlers is Jordan Parker, with 13.6 points per game. Bluefield State is 1-15 overall this season. The Big Blues fell to Glenville State the last time out. Lyric Hampton leads the Big Blues with an average 12.4 points per contest.

Series History: The Storm and Alderson Broaddus have met twice before. Alderson Broaddus defeated the Storm 75-67 earlier this season. The Storm defeated the Battlers 57-33 back in 2013, as a part of the G-MAC/GLIAC Challenge when the Storm was in the GLIAC. The Storm and Big Blues met earlier this season for the first time at Bluefield State. The Storm was victorious 83-58 on November 28th.
