The Lake Erie College Storm women's basketball team lost their sixth game of the season tonight in an away contest against the Roberts Wesleyan College Redhawks. The final score of the game was 79-71.
The Storm fell behind in the game early and was unable to gain ground on the Redhawks despite a six-point scoring run in the first quarter.
The bright spot of the night was the Storm's performance at the charity stripe. The team was 12-12 at the line, with Breanna Bauer making all six of her attempts and Josie Chaddock making all five. Lainey Billing added the last free-throw.
Bauer led the Storm offensively, scoring 18 points and recording three steals, eight rebounds, and one block. Farrah Benner also scored 18 points this evening, recording two rebounds and assists, and had one blocked shot. Chaddock scored 15 points and was credited with five assists, six rebounds, and one steal.
The Storm returns to Painesville to seek their first win of the 2019-2020 season against the University of Indianapolis. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m.
