Storm Not Enough For Cavaliers

The Lake Erie College Storm women's basketball team lost their ninth game of the 2019-2020 season this afternoon against the Walsh University Cavaliers (7-2, 1-0).

The Cavaliers pulled away with an early lead in the first quarter, outscoring the Storm by 11 points. Although they were unable to make up ground to take a lead back, the Storm matched the Cavs in points during the second quarter, and a six-point scoring run in the third quarter cut the deficit to 12 before giving up 29 points in the final quarter of the contest.

Leading the Storm in scoring this afternoon was junior Breanna Bauer. Bauer scored 19 points and recorded seven rebounds, and a steal and block respectively. Senior Josie Chaddock added 16 points, additionally recording four rebounds and six assists.

A highlight of Lake Erie's performance today was the team's work on the boards, recording 35 total rebounds. The only game in which they've recorded more rebounds this season was their win over Alaska-Fairbanks (37 rebounds).

The Storm will have a week off of competition before returning to the Osborne Center for a game against Ohio Valley on December 14.
