Women's Lacrosse Set to Host Meryhurst in Home Opener (PREVIEW)

STORM OPENS UP HOME PLAY: The Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team opens up the home portion of their schedule in a nonconference contest against Mercyhurst University.

LAST TIME OUT: The Storm fell at fifth-ranked Le Moyne College, 19-4.  Hana Abu-Kwiek led the Storm with two points and one assist.  Samantha Gryba and Ashriel West had one goal apiece. Earlier in the week, the Storm defeated Notre Dame College, 10-9.  In that contest, Abu-Kwiek had four goals while Gryba and West had two.  Kayla Bohn and Breana Moser also netted goals.

OPPOSITION POSITION: The Lakers are 3-1 on the season with their lone loss coming at Le Moyne.  In their most recent outing, Meryhurst defeated the University of Findlay 25-9.  Becca Himes leads the Lakers with 17 points while Jenna Schlagenhauf has 12 goals.  In net, Rebecca Muscella has 14 saves.

SERIES HISTORY: The Storm is 0-3 all-time against the Lakers. Last season, Mercyhurst defeated the Storm 16-7 in Erie, Pa.

STORM REPORT: Hana Abu-Kwiek leads the Storm this season with 12 points- 11 of which are goals.  Ashriel West has tallied seven points on five goals and two assists.  Samantha Gryba and Emma Miller both have six points.  Katie Holden leads the Storm with 16 groundballs.  In net, Holden has made 40 saves.

NEXT UP: The Storm is back at home on Sunday, playing host to McKendree University.
