Storm Heads to Long Island to Face Dowling (PREVIEW)

STORM HEADS TO LONG ISLAND TO PLAY DOWLING:  The Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team looks to rebound from a loss at sixth-ranked Lock Haven University as they travel to Long Island to take on Dowling College.

LAST TIME OUT:  Hana Abu-Kwiek scored the Storm's two goals.  Deianira SmithAmanda Getto and Kayla Corey picked up two groundballs apiece.  Samantha Gryba had two draw controls and caused one turnover.  Emma Miller recorded two shots while Kayla BohnBreana Moser  Ashriel West had one each.  Bohn also had a draw control.  Skylar Hunter and West had one groundball apiece. Katie Holden led the Storm with four groundballs in addition to making seven saves.

OPPOSITION POSITION:  The Golden Lions are 6-2 this season.  They fell narrowly, 12-11, in their most recent outing against the University of New Haven.  This is the third straight home game for a Dowling team that is 2-1 with home field advantage this season.  Jackie Anderson leads Dowling with 60 points on 36 goals and 24 assists.  Tina Fey has made 36 saves in net.

SERIES HISTORY:  Dowling leads the overall series 3-0. They last met in 2012 with Dowling winning 24-13 in Painesville.

STORM SCOUT:  Hana Abu-Kwiek leads the Storm this season with 21 points and 17 goals.  Ashriel West has tallied 13 points on 10 goals and three assists.  Samantha Gryba is third on the team with eight goals.  Mallory Quiggle is tied with Abu-Kwiek with four assists in addition to her three goals.  Emma Miller and Breana Moser have netted five and four goals apiece.   Katie Holden leads the Storm with 22 groundballs while making 66 saves.

FORECAST:  The Storm returns home to kick-off GLIAC play against Ursuline College on Wednesday (April 2).
