Storm Hosts Findlay on Senior Day (PREVIEW)

STORM HOSTS UNIVERSITY OF FINDLAY ON SENIOR DAY: The Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team hosts Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) foe University of Findlay on Senior Day looking for their fourth straight win.

OUTSTANDING SENIOR: Before the game, the Storm will honor its lone senior, Ashriel West.  In her four-year career at Lake Erie, West has played in 60 games, tallying 189 points on 129 goals, 60 assists.  She had also collected 110 groundballs and 190 draw controls in addition to causing 50 turnovers.

LAST TIME OUT: The Storm defeated Tiffin University in overtime Thursday (April 17), 16-15.  West led the Storm with a career-high eight goals- tied for the second highest game total in program history. Hana Abu-Kwiek ended the game with seven points with six assists and one goal.  Emma Miller tallied three points on two goals, one assist while Samantha Gryba and Mallory Quiggle had two goals each.  Kayla Bohn totaled one goal, one assist for two points and Delaney Semancik had one assist.  Katie Holden picked up the win in net, making nine saves.

OPPOSITION POSITION: The Oilers are 6-8 overall this season, including 4-2 in GLIAC play.  They most recently defeated Alderson-Broaddus University 18-5 on Thursday.  Sarah Lankton leads the Oilers with 71 points on 54 goals, 17 assists.  Katie Poorman has made 93 saves in goal.

SERIES HISTORY: The Storm was victorious in the lone match-up between the teams.  Last season, West, Abu-Kwiek and Gryba combined for 11 goals as the Storm won 24-12.

STORM REPORT: Hana Abu-Kwiek leads the Storm with 50 points on 35 goals and a team-high 15 assists, 32 groundballs and 53 draw controls. Ashriel West has tallied 47 points on 35 goals and 12 assists. Samantha Gryba is third on the team with 19 goals. Mallory Quiggle is third on the team with 11 assists in addition to her 15 goals. Emma Miller has scored 18 goals while Breana Moser has 10. Katie Holden is tied with Abu-Kwiek with a team-high 32 groundballs while making 94 saves.

FORECAST: The Storm heads to Wheeling Jesuit University next Friday (April 25) for a GLIAC contest.
