TIFFIN, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team was in action Saturday (March 26) as they were defeated by Tiffin University, 17-8.

The Dragons started the game with four straight goals, which forced a Lake Erie timeout to halt the Dragons momentum.  After the timeout, the Dragons added three goals, to take a 7-0 lead.  The game was a defensive battle for the next nine minutes before the Dragons broke the drought.  The Dragons scored three more goals before Cecilia Spin (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) got the Storm on the board with just under 10 minutes remaining in the half.  After two goals by Tiffin, Spin added second goal of the game for the Storm off of a free position shot.

Emma Miller (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) forced a Tiffin turnover on the opening possession of the second half directly leading to Spin's third goal of the game.  After three goals by the Dragons the Storm responded with a free position goal by Spin, with a little over 11 minutes remaining in the game.  Spin scored her fifth goal of the game for the Storm off of an assist from Hana Abu-Kwiek (Lewis Center, Ohio / Olentangy).  Abu-Kwiek scored the third straight goal for the Storm unassisted.  After a goal by the Dragons, the Storm responded with an unassisted goal by Brianna Moser (Gahanna, Ohio / Gahanna) with just over a minute remaining in the game.  The Storm continued their strong second half play when Mallory Quiggle scored off of a free position attempt.  The Storm outscored the Dragons 6-4 in the second half, but fell, 17-8.

Spin led the Storm five goals, two groundballs, one caused turnover and one draw control.  Quiggle also added a goal, two groundballs and a caused turnover.

Harmony Moore (Farmington, N.Y. / Canadaigua Academy) was in net for the Storm.  She faced 30 shots on goal, and made 13 saves.

Lake Erie will be back in action Tuesday (March 29th) when they host Slippery Rock University at 7 P.M.
