PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team will kick off the 2017 season with a home matchup against local rival Notre Dame College on Sunday (March 5) at 12:00 PM.
"We can't wait to get out on the field for our first game," said Storm head coach Mallory Ferrandiz. "We have a lot of experience on this year's team and will look to storm the field in our first matchup against NDC."
Storm Report: The Storm was tabbed to finish sixth in the GLIAC in 2017 after the Storm went 6-11 overall and 4-8 in the GLIAC last season, making their second straight GLIAC tournament. The Storm returns seven of the top eight goal scorers from 2016.
Opposition Position: Notre Dame is currently 1-0 after a season-opening 22-3 win over Potomac State in February. Darbie Barkman leads the Falcons with seven goals and five assists.
Series History: The Storm leads the series 3-0 over the Falcons. Last season, the Storm defeated the Falcons 18-7 with Anna Spin (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) scoring six goals.
Storm Forecast: Lake Erie will travel to Gannon for a non-conference matchup on March 11th.
