Storm Begins GLIAC Play With Greyhounds, Bearcats (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio- After a 7-0 start to the season, the Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team will begin the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) slate of the schedule. Lake Erie will host the University of Indianapolis on Friday (April 7) and McKendree University on Sunday (April 9)

Sunday will serve as Senior Day for the Storm as seven seniors will be recognized. The following players will be honored: Breana Moser, Mallory Quiggle, Kaci Asper, Deianira Smith, Kayla Bohn, Emma Miller and Alex Butler

Storm Report: The Storm improved to a program-best 7-0 on Tuesday (April 4) with a 20-4 win over Ursuline College. Taylor Mathis (Corning, N.Y. / Corning) scored five goals while Cecilia Spin (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) and Kayla Bohn (Louisville, Ky. / Eastern) each scored three goals. Mathis leads the Storm with 28 goals scored this season.

Opposition Position: Indianapolis is currently 6-3 overall with a 0-1 GLIAC record after the Greyhounds fell 15-11 to Grand Valley State in their GLIAC opener. Anna Rulapaugh and Chalane Morrison led the Greyhounds with 27 goals scored each. The Bearcats are 5-4 overall and 1-0 in the GLIAC. McKendree opened GLIAC play with a 20-1 win over Northern Michigan. They are led by Victoria Lelo, who has scored 33 goals this season.

Series History: The Storm and the Greyhounds began their series last season when the Storm defeated UIndy 5-4. Lake Erie and McKendree have faced off five times prior to this season. The Storm holds a 4-1 series advantage over the Bearcats, including a 12-11 last second win in overtime last season.

Storm Forecast: The Storm will travel to Walsh for a GLIAC game on April 13th
