BAY CITY, Mich. — The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced its 2017 All-GLIAC Women's Lacrosse teams at the banquet on the evening prior to the GLIAC Tournament Semifinals on Thursday evening (May 4).  Lake Erie had four athletes named to All-GLIAC Women's Lacrosse teams.

The Storm had a pair of athletes receive All-GLIAC First-Team as Taylor Mathis (Corning, N.Y. / Corning) and Breana Moser (Gahanna, Ohio / Gahanna) both received that honor.

Mathis had a fantastic season as she returned to the field after a season ending injury in the year prior.  The attacker was second in the conference, and led the Storm in goals with 59.  Mathis picked up 20 groundballs, grabbed 14 draw controls and had four assists on the season.  Mathis notched her 100th career point earlier this season.

Moser is eighth in the conference in groundballs and led the Storm in pickups as she had 33 on the season.  The defender is tied for the team lead in caused turnovers with 16 and second on the team in draw controls with 26.  This marks the second consecutive season Moser has been named All-GLIAC First-Team.

Lake Erie also had two athletes named All-GLIAC Second-Team as Anna Spin (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) and Anastasia Crawford (Corning, N.Y. / Corning Painted Post East) each received the honor.

Spin is second in the conference in assists and leads the Storm with 31 assists on the year.  The attacker is also fifth in the conference in points and leads Lake Erie with 66 points this season.  Spin was also tied for second on the team in draw controls with 26.  During this season Spin reached 100 careers points.

Crawford was second on the team in goals as she scored 38 times, and was third on the team in points with 43.  Earlier this season Crawford scored her 100th career goal for the Storm.  The attacker picked up 17 groundballs and snagged 17 draw controls.

Head Coach Mallory Ferrandiz said "It is an accumulation of the teams hard work this past season. These honors are well deserved for each of these individuals, but each know they would not be where they are without their teammates. We are thankful to have a team who puts the we before the me and that showed this season. It is exciting to have four placed on the All conference teams"!
