Storm Takes Streak On Road to Walsh, Ohio Valley (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team resumes Great Midwest play with two road matchups against the Walsh University Cavaliers and the Ohio Valley University Fighting Scots. The Storm will face the Cavaliers on Thursday (March 29) at 5:00 PM and will battle the Fighting Scots on Saturday (March 31) at 4:00 PM.

Storm Report: The Storm improved to 4-2 on the season with a 20-11 win over Wheeling Jesuit on Sunday (March 25), their fourth straight win. Anna Spin (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) scored eight goals in the win and totaled ten points with two assists as well. A. Spin leads the Storm with 23 goals and seven assists. Lake Erie is currently 2-0 in the conference after wins against Findlay and Ohio Valley.

G-MAC Player of the Week: A. Spin was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the G-MAC on Tuesday (March 27) after she totaled 15 points in two games last week. She scored four goals with an assist against Roberts Wesleyan. Against Wheeling Jesuit, A. Spin tied the single-game record for goals with eight. She set the points record for a single-game with ten. She joins her sister, Cecilia as the two Storm players that have been named Player of the Week by the G-MAC.

Opposition Position: Walsh is 5-2 overall and 4-0 in the G-MAC this season. The Cavaliers were victorious over Davis & Elkins in a 17-5 game on Sunday. Emma Armour leads the Cavaliers with 23 goals scored and 16 assists this season. Ohio Valley is 2-5 overall and 0-3 in the G-MAC so far in 2018. The Fighting Scots fell 7-5 at Alderson Broaddus in their last game. Ohio Valley will meet Ursuline before hosting the Storm. Kayla Stewart is the leading scorer for the Fighting Scots with 22 goals.

Series History: Lake Erie is 6-0 against Walsh in the series as both were members of the GLIAC. The Storm defeated the Cavaliers 14-8 last season. Lake Erie holds a 1-0 series advantage over Ohio Valley as the Storm won the first matchup this season 21-4.

Storm Forecast: The Storm will return to the Britt for four straight Great Midwest games, starting with Alderson Broaddus on Friday, April 6th.
