PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team opens the month of April with two Great Midwest matchups at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium. The Storm will host the Alderson Broaddus University Battlers on Friday (April 6) at 7:00 PM and will play the Davis & Elkins Senators on Sunday (April 8) at 12:00 PM.
Storm Report: The Storm have won five straight games as they closed March with a 5-2 record overall. Lake Erie is 3-0 in the conference so far with nine conference games to go. The Storm defeated Walsh 16-11 as the Storm scored six straight second half goals in the comeback victory. Anna Spin (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) leads the Storm with 28 goals, eight assists and 36 points total this season.
G-MAC Player of the Week: Chloe Nottingham (New Westminster, B.C. / New Westminster Secondary) won Great Midwest Defensive Player of the Week on April 2 after she grabbed six groundballs at Walsh and forced four Cavalier turnovers. Lake Erie has accounted for three consecutive Player of the Weeks this season.
Opposition Position: Alderson Broaddus is 3-7 overall and 2-2 in the G-MAC this season. The Battlers fell 20-4 at Findlay last Saturday (March 31). Krista Cooper leads the Battlers with 19 goals and 23 points. The Senators enter the weekend with a 0-5 overall record and a 0-3 G-MAC mark. Davis & Elkins fell 19-2 at Findlay in their last contest and will face Ursuline before coming to Painesville. Gabby Fagan leads the team with seven goals scored.
Series History: Lake Erie improved to 4-0 against the Battlers with a 19-3 victory last season at the Britt. The Storm defeated the Senators 19-1 in their only meeting last season.
