PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team makes the final stretch run of the 2018 regular season with two road games this week. The Storm will play the Ursuline College Arrows on Tuesday (April 24) at 4:00 PM and then will face the Ohio Valley University Fighting Scots on Thursday (April 26) at 4:00 PM.
Storm Report: The Storm is 11-2 overall and 9-0 in the G-MAC in 2018. Lake Erie has won 11 straight games, a program record. In their last game, the Storm defeated Alderson Broaddus 20-7 on the road. Anna Spin (Auburn, N.Y. / Auburn) leads the Storm with 50 goals, 26 assists and 76 points. With three conference games to go, Lake Erie leads the G-MAC by two games in the loss column.
News and Notes: A. Spin earned Great Midwest Player of the Week honors for the second straight week... A. Spin scored 13 points, six goals and seven assists in the Storm's two wins last weekend … Lake Erie is now fifth in the Midwest Region Rankings… the Storm has the best free position shot percentage (62.4%) in all of Division II… A. Spin has converted 77.3% of her free position shots, second best in the country. She leads the G-MAC with her 50 goals, 17 free position goals and 76 points.
Opposition Position: Ursuline is 6-8 overall and 4-5 in the G-MAC this season. The Arrows defeated Davis & Elkins 16-7 last week. Cydney Bartlett leads the Arrows with 63 points (47 goals and 16 assists). Ohio Valley is 2-11 overall and 0-8 in Great Midwest play. Findlay defeated the Fighting Scots 22-3 in Ohio Valley's last game. Kayla Stewart is the leading scorer with 41 goals.
Series History: Lake Erie is 5-0 against the Arrows in the series. The Storm defeated the Arrows 17-5 earlier at the Britt. A. Spin had five goals in the game. Lake Erie defeated Ohio Valley 21-4 earlier this season in the first meeting between the two teams.
