(TIFFIN, Ohio) - The regular season came to a close for Lake Erie with an 18-7 defeat against Tiffin at Frost Kalnow Stadium this afternoon. The result sets up a rematch between the Storm (7-9, 4-3) and Dragons (11-6, 7-0) in next week's G-MAC Tournament which will be hosted by Tiffin.
The Storm kept neck-and-neck with the hosts for the opening 10 minutes of the game and took the initial lead on a goal by Riley Heffron with an assist by Jacquelynn Ho at 23:50. However, the Dragons answered with the equalizer 1:55 later with the first of seven-straight goals. Anna Spin put Lake Erie back on the board with a free position shot to make it 7-2, but Tiffin closed the half with the final three goals.
The Green and White opened the second half with two of the first three goals thanks to Heffron and Spin each recording their second of the game, but the Dragon firepower proved too much and they went on for the win.
Heffron finished with four goals to lead the Storm.
The Storm will return to Tiffin on May 2 as the No. 4 seed to take on the top-seeded Dragons with the start still yet to be determined. The winner of that game will advanced to the championship game against either No. 2 Findlay or No. 3 Walsh.
