EDMOND, Okla.—After a top-eight finish at the NWCA/Cliff Keen Division II National Duals last weekend, the Lake Erie College wrestling team moved up three spots from 19th to 16th in the latest Division II Wrestling Coaches Association rankings released Wednesday (Jan. 15).

The Storm took eighth-place last weekend at the National Duals, defeating the University of Findlay and 13th-ranked Ouachita Baptist University in the process.  The tournament featured 16 of the top Division II, 11 of which were ranked in the top-20.

2013 157-pound runner-up Zak Vargo (Stow, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) remains second in the 157-pound rankings.

The Storm has a tough stretch of the schedule coming up.  They will face 12th-ranked Mercyhurst University on the road Saturday (Jan.  18) before returning home to host top-ranked Notre Dame College on Jan. 26 and 13th-ranked University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown on Jan.  28.
