Storm Moves Back Into National Rankings

EDMOND, Okla.—The Lake Erie College wrestling team moved back into the national rankings this week, coming in at number 18 in the latest NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association poll.

The Storm recently captured their first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship on Feb. 1, defeating the University of Findlay, Tiffin University and 17th-ranked Ashland University.

Zak Vargo (Stow, Ohio/Cuyhoga Valley Christian Academy) remains third the 157-pound rankings.

Along with the rankings, the latest stats were released.  Austin Gillihan (Corry, Pa./Corry Area) leads all D-II wrestlers with seven technical fall victories while Evan Rosborough (Concord Twp., Ohio/Riverside) is ninth in the country with nine pin falls.

The Storm is back in action next Thursday (Feb. 20) against West Liberty University.
