Storm Hosts Ashland in GLIAC Dual (PREVIEW)

STORM OPENS GLIAC COMPETITION AGAINST ASHLAND: The Lake Erie College wrestling team opens up the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) slate of their schedule against Ashland University.   

LAST TIME OUT: In their last outing, the Storm participated in the prestigious National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Duals.  The Storm narrowly fell to second-ranked and eventual tournament champion Maryville University in the opening round.  They rebounded with a dominating 33-12 victory over 12th-ranked Kutztown University but fell to 11th-ranked University of Central Oklahoma in their third dual of the day to finish in the top 12.  

SERIES HISTORY: This marks the sixth meeting between the Storm and the Eagles.  Ashland has won three of the previous five matches.  The last time the two faced off, the Storm won 19-18 to win the GLIAC Championship.

OPPOSITION POSITION: The Eagles are 3-2 in duals this season.  Their last time out, they fell to the University of Pittsburgh- Johnstown 30-11.  The Eagles are led by Michael Labry, ranked second at 133-pounds, and Luke Cramer, ranked fifth at 174-pounds.

STORM IN THE RANKINGS: The Storm check in at number 15 in the most recent DII Wrestling Coaches Association Poll. 

ROSBOROUGH LEADS DII IN PINS: 197-pound sophomore Evan Rosborough ranks first among all Division-II wrestlers with nine pinfalls against other Division-II wrestlers this season.  Overall, Rosborough has 13 pins this year, including three at the NWCA National Duals last weekend.
