STORM HOSTS GANNON ON SENIOR DAY: The eighth-ranked Lake Erie College wrestling team hosts Gannon University in the Storm's final home dual meet of the season.
LAST TIME OUT: The Storm went 4-1 this past weekend at the Super Region II Duals hosted Tiffin University. The Storm picked up wins over 20th-ranked University North Carolina-Pembroke, Belmont Abbey College, University of Indianapolis and Limestone College while falling to Coker College. Zev Green led the Storm at the event, posting a 4-0 record including wins over the fourth- and fifth-ranked wrestlers in the region.
WIN #100: During the Super Region II Duals, Zak Vargo became the first wrestler in Storm history to win 100 career matches.
SERIES HISTORY: This marks the fifth meeting between the Storm and the Golden Knights. Gannon holds the all-time lead against the Storm, 3-1, including a 23-22 win last year in Erie, Pa.
OPPOSITION POSITION: The Golden Knights enter the dual with a 5-2 record. In their last outing, they fell to Kutztown University 21-19. 125-pounder Matt Turek is currently ranked second in the country.
GLIAC CHAMPIONSHIP: This year's GLIAC Championship is determined through round robin duals featuring Lake Erie, Ashland University, Tiffin University and the University of Findlay. Currently, the Storm is the lead with a 2-0 record.
STORM IN THE RANKINGS: The Storm check in at number eight in the most recent DII Wrestling Coaches Association Poll.
FORECAST: The Storm is back on the road this weekend to face 19th-ranked University of Pittsburgh- Johnstown Friday (Feb. 6) and 14th-ranked Kutztown.
