BAY CITY, Mich. - Two wrestlers from the Lake Erie College wrestling team were honored by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference on Wednesday (Feb. 22).
Blake Glogouski (New Paris, Ind. / Fairfield) was named GLIAC Freshman of the Year and was named to the All-GLIAC First Team at 125 pounds. Tyler Hughes (Brunswick, Ohio / Brunswick) was named to the All-GLIAC Second Team at 184 pounds.
Glogouski went 2-0 in the GLIAC this season. He defeated Ashland's Sebastian Vidika, who was named All-GLIAC Second Team, by decision and pinned Tiffin's Landon Elliott. Glogouski is currently ranked third in Super Region 2 and 12th nationally in his weight class.
Hughes had a 2-1 record in the GLIAC this season. Hughes defeated Tiffin's Jared Chambers and Findlay's Charles Wells by decision. Hughes fell to All-GLIAC First Team member and 11th-ranked Jordan Murphy of Ashland by decision. Hughes is currently ranked 3rd in the Super Region 2 and 11th nationally.
The Storm will compete at the Super Region 2 Championships this weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana.
