(INDIANAPOLIS) – After a 3-0 weekend by both Lake Erie and Nick Boggs, he has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference's first Athlete of the Week. The Concord, Ohio, native was a redshirt last season but debuted at No. 4 in the nation this year in the 157-lbs. weight class.
Boggs, who was a former First Team All-GLIAC pick, helped the Storm pick up wins over Otterbein, Cowley, and Lindsey Wilson this past Friday at the Kent State Duals. In the first match against the Cardinals, Boggs pinned Michael Duzzny in 5:43 for six points.
He later took down Jake Patterson of Cowley 9-1 in a major decision for four points in the Storm's biggest victory of the day 35-3. Boggs closed out the perfect weekend with his most difficult bout in a 5-2 decision over the Blue Raiders' Joe Koontz.
