(INDIANAPOLIS) – Thanks to an undefeated weekend at the G-MAC Championships, Lake Erie's Forrest Glogouski has been named Athlete of the Week. It's the second consecutive week the Storm have achieved the honor after Nick Boggs did so last week. It's also the fourth time this season after Boggs and Sean O'Hearon went back-to-back at the beginning of the season.
Glogouski wrestled at 133 points and dominated his competition over the weekend in helping Lake Erie secure its fourth conference crown in six years. He opened up the championships with a quick pin in 1:08 in the match against Kentucky Wesleyan.
Saturday was a bit busier with three matches, but the results were all the same. An 11-3 major decision in the match against Findlay followed by a pin against Tiffin proved pivotal as both matches came were tied as heading into the heavyweight bouts.
A 10-5 decision in his bout against Alderson Broaddus helped create separation in the team standings to help the Storm win the title.
Lake Erie is now ranked No. 21 in the nation as it heads into weekend competition. The Storm will host Ashland on Friday at 7 p.m. before participating in the John Carroll Open on Sunday.
