Bartula Selected to Academic All-Ohio Team

PAINESVILLE, Ohio - Lake Erie College women's soccer player Natalia Bartula (Oakville, Ont./Holy Trinity Catholic) was selected to the Academic All-Ohio team for her performance on the field and in the classroom. The award is given by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association.

Earlier in the offseason, Bartula was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-East team.

Bartula was a senior captain for the women's soccer team in 2009, starting all 20 games as the Storm's defensive sweeper. She helped the Storm allow seven fewer goals in 2009 than in 2008, despite playing six more games.   The Storm finished with a 6-12-2 record in its final season as a Division II independent under

head coach Jim Buchan. Lake Erie will compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference beginning in the 2010 season.

This spring, Bartula is competing as a sprinter for the Storm track and field team.
